Glasgow's own punk heroes are back again with another chaotic single from their upcoming second EP, Witch Hunt was debuted on Huw Stephens' show and released on the 17th of August has already received a well reception which was very much expected. The Dunts seem to be doing well for themselves, bagging a slot playing the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds this year and announcing their own headline tour for October, whilst teasing another Glasgow show at the end of the year there seems to be no stopping these boys.
Being one of my favourite bands on the Glasgow scene at the minute I didn't once doubt this new single and I was right not to because Witch Hunt is another strikingly chaotic anthem brought to us by the band. Its exactly what you would expect from The Dunts, based on Johnny Rottens' desire to see the demise of unfavourable BBC stars in the late seventies which eventually got him barred, this anthem of revenge is played through piercing vocals, riotous guitar sounds and anarchic drums. After this release more anticipation surrounds their second EP as it's exciting to see whether they'll stick to this certain theme or change it up a bit.
I seen this tune played live at their headline show in Stereo back in April it was complete mayhem and of course everyone in the venue got involved in it, there was just limbs everywhere which was quite satisfying to see as you could tell the whole crowd was buzzing. Madness occurred whilst the band showcased the new single the whole atmosphere was electrifying, that's what I love about this band every time I've seen them live I have never been left disappointed.
I think it's safe to say The Dunts are on top of their scene at the minute and it doesn't look like their going anywhere. Have a listen to Witch Hunt blow:
