SINGLE REVIEW | Heavy Rapids - "Infected Nightmares".

Heavy Rapids are an up and coming punk band from Glasgow who have been featured on Radio 1 and have gained support from platforms such as NME and Radio X. Since the release of the bands last track “Going Down” the UK music scene has been eagerly waiting for more. On the 5th of March Heavy Rapids released their latest single “Infected Nightmares (Frankenstein)”.

The track beings with a gripping guitar riff that instantly pulls the listener in, the heavy drums and upbeat sound fit the bands style perfectly. Lead singer, Dillon Squire stated that “Infected nightmares is all about confusing relationships which have been affected by social experiments.” and that “It’s an angsty love song”. The songs tone and punky edge matches this theme and its lyrics well.

The songs chorus is loud and instantly creates a liveliness that makes you want to sing along. It catches your attention in the best way possible and pulls the song together making it so that live, the track will create massive excitement within crowds.

The stripped back bridge slowly building up and creates anticipation before the track creates a burst of energy with a final chorus filled with thrashy guitars, punchy drums and loud vocals.

Overall, Heavy Rapids have created a great track filled with energy and excitement from start to finish. The band have made a name for themselves in the industry and have definitely left the UK music scene eager to see what’s next from the four piece.
