If someone turned round and said to me 5 years ago “John, in 5 years time, you’re going to witness one of the biggest hypes in Scottish music since The View.” I’d have laughed and said “nah, there won’t ever be hype for bands like The View again mate.”
Young bands have come and gone over the last few years but as the old saying goes, only the strongest survive. Shambolics proved just that in front of a record 700 fans at a packed out Lorenzos on Saturday night!
The night kicked off with a somewhat eye opening set from new Kirkcaldy Rapper Lee J.C. He brought some good old fashioned Rap technique into Scottish reality and it worked a treat on the crowd, attracting all the right attention from the loyalists who crammed in the door at 7PM.
Next up, one of our own hit the stage as main support on the shape of ‘On top form’ The Plastic Mac. Sean and the boys delivered nothing less than pure top quality and seem to be only getting better and better with every stage they take to.
Lorenzos was the perfect opportunity to impress a home crowd and they sure did not disappoint.
So cigarette break over and cups refilled...
The band emerged from the darkness onto a colourful stage, fittingly to the sound of Dianna Ross’s ‘I’m Coming Out’ where a lively crowd welcomed them to the biggest night they’ve had so far!
Kicking off with Scarlett Harlett and working their way through a host of bangers, including new single “My Time Is Now”, they effortlessly kept each and every person in the room dancing for the first note till the last.
The atmosphere in the room was electric and you can fully understand the passion the fans have for this band. People of all ages were on hand to witness the bands biggest headliner to date. I myself would tag the night as a major success, and am quietly buzzing for the next!
It’s been a pleasure, peace out.
