Amassing over a million Spotify hits, touring the UK and playing countless sold out shows to crowds of adoring fans, RVC have had quite the 2019. Rounding off the year with a string of shows in the homeland of Scotland, Stereo bar was set to be bouncing.

Local support Black Dove impressed in their short set. The singer had an incredible voice which had the crowd dancing along. Reminiscent of early 2000s indie, the band rocked the venue for such an early slot. A definite highlight is their single Fake ID, the band are definitely worth checking out.

Up next were Guildford punks Blackwaters. A much heavier alternative to the rest of the lineup, the band were very similar to the likes of IDLES. They made the stage their own, with the singer strutting the stage and making every second count.

The final support was Sheffield indie rockers RedFaces. The band impressed with their unique instrumentation and stage presence and had the crowd loving them. With the slot they had, the venue was already pretty packed so the atmosphere was brilliant. The band thanked the fans for listening before leaving the stage, getting everyone ready for the main event.

Retro Video Club are arguably one of the best live bands within the Scottish scene right now. Their presence on stage and ability to control the crowd is second to none. Opening with the brilliant 3AM, the crowd were going crazy from the first note. 3AM is a song made for this environment, a small, sweaty room packed full of crazy fans.

Around 40 seconds into the second song Heart Brigade, the lights fell and the stage went silent. Front man Liam Allison quickly had the crowd be quiet, before telling everyone that the power in the venue had cut out. Blaming it on bassist Michaels amp. Throughout the power cut, the band played their song Noir, which had fans lighting up the room with their phone torches. It was a real special moment.

The power finally came back on and the band soldiered on. Chemistry and Famous went down a storm with the fans, with the whole crowd pushing and jumping around. The band closed their set with two classics, Psycho and 1993. Tonight was really special for RVC, as well as the fans. The band undoubtedly want to make it big in this industry and they are certainly on the way to do so.
