On to the track... hullo, what is this? Some kind of strings based Arabian Nights in Russia intro? Regardless, a refreshing kick off to Kyle’s latest track which leaves you thinking “Where is this going?”
After the interesting mix of strings, drums, and bass for the intro we slide into the first verse. The strings take a back seat but reappear now and again with little melodic turns to accent the lyrics.
Kyle’s lyrics stem from dealing with addiction and recovery, as he has said in previous interviews.
“Stop praying, what you waiting what you waiting for”
The lyrics builds up to the chorus where the guitar comes in with sweeping chords to fill out the sound. Strings come back in with the same melody from the intro to make sure you're still well and truly hooked. The bass and drums are driving this song with consistent rhythm ensuring you’re never not tapping your toes.
The bridge features a brief but fitting guitar solo, backed up by strings, setting the back-drop for Kyle to near scream the chorus for the last section of the song.
All in all an excellent must-listen-to song with a refreshing arrangement of instruments!
