GIG PREVIEW | The Blinders @ Saint Luke’s|28.04.19

On Sunday the 28th of April one of the UK’s best up and coming bands, The Blinders, will take to Glasgow’s Saint Luke’s and it is set to be one of the best gigs of the year so far. The support comes from two of Glasgow’s finest bands, The Ninth Wave and Bad Hombres and this is definitely not to be missed.

Bad Hombres

First on the bill for this gig we have Bad Hombres who have been ripping up the Scottish scene lately. With their latest EP being produced by Kieren Webster of The View, Bad Hombres have been getting attention from all the right people. Their music is punchy, political and punky which undoubtedly sums up some of the best qualities of the Scottish scene. Bad Hombres are certainly the type of band that will create an energetic crowd at St Luke’s, especially during one of their most popular songs ‘Theresa on the Guillotine’ which has introduced many music fans to the rowdy working-class punk we all know and love. Make sure to get down to Saint Luke’s early to catch Bad Hombres and feel the energy for yourself, you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t.

The Ninth Wave

Next up are The Ninth Wave who have been smashing up not only the Scottish music scene but also festivals such as SXSW and are making a great name for themselves in the industry. One of the greatest things about The Ninth Wave is that seeing them live will almost be a show in itself as the Glasgow band are the epitome of cool, stylish and effortlessly good. The Ninth Wave take a very different vibe from Bad Hombres but that is the beauty of this line-up, there’s something for everyone. The band have a very original sound which is one of the reasons they are so celebrated. They’re unique and don’t try to imitate anyone and to be honest they don’t need to- The Ninth Wave themselves are everything you could want from a Scottish band. Take the chance to see them at St Luke’s because they’re only going to get bigger from here.

The Blinders

Headliners The Blinders, are infamous in the UK music scene for riotously passionate gigs where they don’t just get up and sing their tunes, they put on a whole performance. They’ve supported big Scottish names such as The View and have been going from strength to strength. The Blinders sound is strong, loud and powerful. I’ve seen The Blinders before and can assure you that you will not regret going to this gig. Whether the venue is large or small, The Blinders give their all and it really pays off. They’ve got strong guitar tracks, intense drums and mighty vocals. Known for a dark punk style, it’s not unusual for the band to be seen on stage with strong makeup which adds to their style and performance at gigs. The Doncaster trio take their influence from some of the greatest poets which takes them to the next level lyrically and makes their tunes the great tracks they are. The Blinders make you feel like you’re part of something big at their gigs and they’re getting popular very quickly so take your chance to see them now.
