Back for their 4th instalment, causing as much havoc as they possible can, is the team at City of Vultures. They are bringing you, yet again, another belter of a lineup. Tomorrow night (ken, I'm super last minute) at Perth’s finest The Green Room eyes will be firmly peeled, and toes will be well and truly tappin’.
Bootin' the night aff will be Glasgow band Fauves, and let me tell you a wee bit about these fellas. Fauves were the first band I seen on my first ever visit to Doune The Rabbit Hole this year, and they might have even been my favourite (top places goes to them and their pals Boohoohoo). What stands Fauves out for me is their charismatic live performance, one that has stuck with me for months. In a country soaked with new music, there is something extremely original about Fauves. Fauves boast a sound of psychedelic indie-pop, that is upbeat, funky and different. Also watch the video for ‘Hit Like This’ absolute cracker.
Also on the bill for tomorrow night is Jonnie Common. Jonnie Common is a busy man so I am glad he can stop by to visit us for a wee tune or two. Common has just launched new record ‘At The McManus’, he performed at The Glad Café last night as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of The McManus Art Gallery & Museum. He was commissioned to make a suite of music, where he used the building itself, how fkn impressive. Jonnie Common is brilliant, he’s a musician, composer, singer and all-round artist. Everything he produces is just pure creativity at its very best. Very excited to hear what JC has in store tomorrow night, I’m expecting the weird, wonderful and completely abstract.
“Shout out to the self-employed”- Hitting me right in the feels, Common
Lazy Angel are also on the bill. As much as I would like to put together a huge spiel, there is not much information regarding this act. In City of Vultures fashion, they do like to keep some surprises left right until the end. I know Lazy Angel consists of the incredible Luna Delirious with support, and I am told it's quite 'dark and wild' unlike Luna's solo work. I am excited to see what they have in store for tomorrow night.
Finally, we have the ultimate Funk set from Lukas Kuba - I've grown a wee soft spot for this guy since I seen him last. In all seriousness a few weeks back LK stepped in for Shaka Loves You (unfortunate road accident) when they couldn't make their set. He absolutely blew the roof aff the whole night, it was a psych-funk dream. Kuba is one of Perth's finest and I can’t wait to bust a move or two to his set tomorrow night.
Get yerself down to The Green Room, Perth tomorrow night for the absolute steal of £4 a ticket (that's like, less that a McDonalds meal these days).
Over and out, see ya there folks.
