City Of Vultures 003 | VanIves, ACRYLIC, Parliamo & Neil Morrison

Updated: Oct 24, 2018

Peel yer eyes – or so organiser Euan Pennycook would say.

The hugely anticipated third gig from promoters City of Vultures is almost upon us. On Saturday night The Green Room Perth will be welcoming VanIves, Parliamo, ACRYLIC and Neil Morrison - along wae a hefty loud crowd. Having put on two crackers already this year, the team at City of Cultures have pulled out another, and maybe their best yet, beltin' line up.

VanIves will be gracing Perth with their presence all the way from south-west Scotland. I’ve not had the pleasure of watching this delicious duo yet, however I am told they are an absolute treat. They have been cutting about Scotland like mad men playing gigs all over, having had an extremely successful 2018. An innovative duo, pulling on influence from a range of genres (electronica, indie-rock, folk and whatever the hell else they decide) fusing into something quite magical. Don’t believe me? Have a wee preview of them here.

VanIves are not the only talent to be taking to the The Green Rooms stage on Saturday Evening. In the most City Of Vultures fashion we were left in anticipation for the final line up announcement, and not to be ones to disappoint, they gave us ACRYLIC. ACRYLIC offer a melting pot of pop, alt-rock and moody vocals not that dissimilar to The Editors' Tom Smith. Another fierce band on this line up I have not yet seen but almost 100% sure I will enjoy.

Pop-rock you say? Well then, this line up would not be complete without Perth’s very own Parliamo. I have had the pleasure of seeing these fellas live before. They interest me, a lot. Jack, the lead singer, is one of the quirkiest performers I’ve ever watched - it's fucking marvellous. They have just released new song ‘Sweet’ which let me tell you, will make you want to get yourself grilled right in the Georgie Foreman. Parliamo are soaked with indie pop-py goodness, chaotic melodies and intricate upbeat lyrics, they are the ultimate can eh fizzy juice.

Also geein’ us a song or two on Saturday night is our very own Neil Morrison. The guy is everywhere, when does he sleep? I’ve seen Neil several times over the past year and he never lets me down. Class act that gives me all the psychedelic feels that I love in a musician. Neil Morrison will not disappoint, as he never does, I don't actually think he knows how to...

For the absolute bargain price on £4 (yes you’re seeing this right!) you can strap on your dancing shoes, stick on your old band t-shirt and pap yourself right down to The Green Room to see all of these absolutely class acts. I’ll see you there, won’t I?

Rumour also has it the team at City Of Vultures have plenty more parties lined up over the next few months so make sure you follow their Instagram and Twitter and you know PEEL YER EYES.
