SINGLE REVIEW |BEAFETS |ROTARY DIAL

Updated: Aug 27, 2019

‘Rotary Dial’ is the new single by Beafets released 19th July 2019 by the East Kilbride four piece just a few months after their first single in a few year ‘Rules For Fools’ was released.

Starting the song off with the vocals of Adam McMonagle really grabbed my attention as his voice just pulls you into the song! The background guitar is soft enough not to pull attention away from the vocals but also strong enough to give the song a beat that makes you want to bob along to.

As you ease into the song the drums chime in giving the beat more energy and bringing in the lead guitar, not to be over shined the vocals pick up as well now a much richer deeper tone that I just love.

It’s a song of ups and downs as the beat slowly softens again and goes back to the mellow vocal and guitar from the start of the song  for the chorus and then the band just lift the energy right back up again.

The lyrics to the song are well thought out and keeping to the title ‘Rotary Dial’ with lyrics like “if your lonely just give me a call” and “Put me on hold cos you realise I’m right”  maybe talking about what it’s like going through a break in a relationship.

The song evens out near the end to a contagious beat with lyrics to match as the singer repeats “if your lonely just give me a call” again giving us the opportunity to sing along and feel involved which would be great when seeing the band perform live, the song rings out after this with the drums fading.

All I can say is that I am looking forward to hearing more from this amazing band in the future and hopefully getting to see them live soon.
