Amy Lou | New Single "Chania"

Amy Lou
Amy Lou is tearing up the Scottish music scene.

Combining quick beats and crystal vocals, Amy Lou is making a bold entrance to the Scottish music scene with new single 'Chania'.

The track begins with hauntingly mellow notes; we are lulled into thinking the song will follow the same laid-back approach as previous tracks Take a Risk and Awaago.

But while her slower tracks from 2016 captured our attention with their quick wit and casual guitar, Chania leads us in an entirely different direction.

It is half a minute into the track that we are hit with the brilliance of Chania - with hints of Paramore and Two Door Cinema Club, we are catapulted into an upbeat melody that instantly has feet tapping in time to its rhythm.

"I got something to tell you about a movie that we watched"

As evident in all of her records so far, Amy Lou does not disappoint with her truly conversational style lyrics. She talks of sex and love - or rather, she talks about her hatred for talking about sex and love. Instead, she wants to hear about the feelings that come between the two, all the while listening to music that sounds ever so similar to Chania Twain.

Amy's unmissable Scottish twang creates the most eccentric combination of melodic trills and harsh Scots feel. You can feel the smile that must have been present on her face during recording, and almost see her jumping around, kicking her feet in the air while singing. It wouldn't be far from the truth to credit her vocals as the Scottish Hayley Williams.
