With their independent release of 'Run and Hide' and catching them in King Tut's earlier this year I was pretty excited to review their latest single, and boy it didn't disappoint. Having only heard of them around the start of this year their following has increased dramatically since then, with the recognition they deserve.
Dabbling in something more than familiar to themselves we are getting straight down to business with a powerful entrance I was automatically drawn into the catchy rhythms in the bass line and the drums, with each lyric fitting along the way perfectly. Ben's vocals always come in at the most perfect moment and with just the right amount of energy, although they always tend to sounds effortless.
The chorus brings you in with the catchy lyrics that you are signing along with come the second verse entrance, and with the rhythm breaking down the way it does hits the spot perfectly, any other way would have ruined it.
All in I felt like I was listening to my rather guilty pleasure of 5 Seconds of Summer and the pure joy of naivety and enjoying the catchy rhythms, lyrics and overall happiness, but this was more mature way of describing as opposed to constantly screaming about loving a perfect image.
Effects at the tail end of the song and playing on Ben being alone in a room is painted perfectly and leaves you with the image of how the music video would end.
Regardless of which of their songs I have on I always find that I'm sucked into their mature boy bad with a rock twist style, and they always remain true to themselves. This is definitely a song for the hopeless romantics who are stuck in their teenage ways.
You can check it out here if you haven't already: (It's pretty irresistible, just lie Vari)
You can also catch them at one of their masses of shows relatively soon!
