Hailing from Dundee, acoustic singer-songwriter Ryan Horne released his first single last month. The track, titled 'Dreaming of You', has been eagerly anticipated after regularly performing his solo sets in Dundee and generating quite a fan base. With influences ranging from Gerry Cinnamon to Richard Ashcroft, to both the Gallagher brothers, Horne has created a hazy track that will aid a broken heart.
'Dreaming of You' begins with the sound of Horne's gentle acoustics before his charming vocals swoon in. The passionate lyrics are tales of lust, love and loss and are complimented by a melody that will have you swaying from side to side. The song builds with drums and bass joining in, before drifting off into a floating guitar solo. Later on, we hear the skill in Horne’s vocal abilities as he introduces harmonies into the chorus, transforming the song into something even more compelling.
With the slightest hint of a psychedelic sound, this dreamy tune would be perfect to soundtrack a drive through beautiful scenery.
After performing solidly in Dundee, Horne recently played his first solo gig in Glasgow at Box Glasgow and after this promising first single, I’m sure the artist has far more in store.
