This was my first time seeing Vistas live and I was in awe of how they managed to connect with the audience and really get the crowd going. It was even better they were playing in one of my favourite venues. They know how to put on a show that’s for sure. I was totally blown away by the performance these four lads put on.
From the first time I listened to their track 'Retrospect', I knew that this was one of the tracks that would have the crowd jumping and I was right. Not only did Vistas put on a great show but the two supporting acts: Paris Youth Foundation and The Plastic Youth set the mood before Vistas made an appearance later on in the night. The atmosphere was absolutely electric throughout the entirety of the night.
First to the stage were The Plastic Youth, these lads are no stranger to putting on a great show. It was my first time seeing this band live but it is certainly not the last. The mix of indie and pop elements in their music is what makes this band so refreshing. With their debut single “Sweet Dreamer” released last year as well as their new single “Comfort” released earlier this year, the band has been doing their fair share of gigs. It is no doubt that they have an exciting future ahead of them.
Next up were Liverpool band Paris Youth Foundation. Now I have to make a confession, I had never listened to this band until they came onto the stage and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by their whole performance despite having no idea what to expect. Their dreamy guitar melodies mixed with relatable lyrics is the main reason why I think this band will be a strong contender in Scotland’s music scene in the upcoming months.
The stage in darkness, it was finally time for Vistas to play their biggest show to date. With their opening number, 'Hold Me', being belted out that was it, St Luke's was in an uproar. I really liked how they brought back some of their more older singles, whilst playing some of my personal favourites such as 'Like An American' and 'Eighteen'. This will definitely not be the last time I see this band live and I am excited to see how the band progress as time goes on.
