A Saturday night at the Garage ... what more could you want?
Atlas Run, a four piece band from Glasgow took stage at the attic room in The Garage a couple of weeks ago and it was some gig!
This was my first time seeing a gig in the Attic of Garage but it was a really nice intimate atmosphere. Although, Atlas Run were the support act, they still attracted a good amount of people and made the stage their own!
Their music is the ultimate mix between alternative Indie and rock. They have the type of songs where you only need to listen to once to instantly enjoy it!
As a support act, their set only lasted approximately 30 minutes. Regardless of the limited time, they still managed to put on a memorable performance which is so important when being the opening act.
‘Losing Touch’ and ‘D-Day’ had a particular impact on the crowd. You could tell that they had a strong support from genuine fans as a lot of the crowd were singing their lyrics back.
Lead singer, Paul Howie’s distinct Scottish accent works well with the rest of the sound. You hear Atlas Run and immediately think of Frightened Rabbit, Fatherson with a hint of Twin Atlantic.
Howie demonstrates the perfect amount of raw emotion through his lyrics when performing live and that’s something I always look out for at a gig.
After the performance, we joined them for a little chat. They teased about having a busy summer and seemed a little overwhelmed after just finishing their set. What a lovely group of guys with a genuine passion for music. It’s nice to see them finally making a name for themselves.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what else Atlas Run have in store for us this year. Definitely a band to watch out for!
