A night showcasing some of Scotland’s best up and coming acts is to grace the stage of St Luke's in the east end of Glasgow tomorrow night.
The fifth installment of the popular Ignite showcase is to be held tomorrow, featuring four bands showing off their talent. The showcase is known for choosing brilliant bands to play and is never a night to be missed.
Lewis Ross is an emerging folk/indie artist from Edinburgh and will be taking to the Ignite stage. Taking influence from the likes of Bon Iver and Fiona Regan, the singer is sure to put on a great show. His debut EP was released last summer and he is currently working on new music.
Annie Booth, also from Edinburgh, is another talented singer-songwriter. Her new EP ‘Spectral’ is set to be released on the 10th of May this year, and she will no doubt be performing tracks off this at the showcase. She has performed her indie-rock tinged folk music all over Scotland and is sure to be a delight to listen to.
The Nickajack Men are a five-piece alt-country/alt-rock act from Falkirk. Being on the go from 2016, they have valuable live experience as well as many songs on the record. Their singles ‘Changed Ways’ and ‘Different Languages’ received raving reviews when released in 2018, with support from the likes of Vic Galloway. They have also supported lucrative acts such as the View. The band are set to be huge, so this will be a great opportunity to see them in a more intimate setting.
Luna The Professor fuse catchy chorus with anthemic indie rock and are sure to be the stars of the future. All from Wishaw, just outside Glasgow, the four-piece have been making waves throughout the Scottish music scene over the past year. They have sold out king tuts twice as well as supported The LaFontaines and King No One, and have just released their debut single ‘You’, which has just reached 40,000 plays on Spotify. The band has a big ambition to make it far, so this is a great opportunity to catch them before they go huge.
